Box.org Graduation Reflections

Bryan Breckenridge reflects on his tenure leading Box.org since early 2014. He describes the initiative as enabling "thousands of nonprofits and #boxcommunity members to serve many millions of people."
The program was structured around three stakeholder groups: nonprofits/communities, Box employees (Boxers), and Box Inc., operating across three pillars: Box technology, Boxers, and Box Inc.
Boxer Pillar Highlights:
1. Global Holiday Impact Days (2018, 2019) serving multiple nonprofits
2. Box Sales Kick-offs benefiting organizations including Little Kids Rock, Girl Scouts of Northern California, charity:water, and Special Olympics
3. International Rescue Committee CEO David Miliband's keynote at Box Leaders Day, inspiring significant employee donations during immigration policy challenges
Box Tech Pillar Highlights:
1. Launch of the #ImpactCloud at the Clinton Global Initiative summit (2015)
2. BoxWorks for Nonprofits sessions (2018, 2019) supporting International Rescue Committee, Black Girls Code, Think of Us, NetHope, and Path
3. NetHope Global Summits across San Jose, Denmark, Atlanta, Dublin, and Puerto Rico
Box Inc. Pillar Highlights:
1. Initial Box.org Fund grant ($225K over three years) supporting the Center for the Digital Nonprofit
2. "Tech Stands with Planned Parenthood" panel moderation at SXSW
3. Attendance at Laudato Si Challenge Foundation summit at the Vatican
Breckenridge credits the program's success to leaders Christina Louie Dyer and Lauren Coberly, alongside partnerships with TechSoup, NetHope, #ImpactCloud, and Pledge 1%.
He notes the community's COVID-19 response as particularly meaningful.
